A 37-year-old Buckhead woman who was pulled from a burning second-story condo Sunday has died, officials said Monday.

Atlanta fire spokesman Cortez Stafford said crews responded to the Pharr Manor Condominiums on Pharr Road shortly after 4 a.m. Sunday, finding flames erupting from two condos and quickly spreading into the attic area of the entire four-unit building.

Firefighters quickly got word a woman, identified Monday by the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s office as Rachel Thorn, lived on the second floor and was missing.

Thorn was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where she died Sunday night.

Her dog was killed in the blaze, which fire officials believed started as a grease fire in the kitchen of the unit below Thorn’s condo.
