A 33-year-old Connecticut woman was killed Saturday morning when a valet failed to stop a moving car and struck six people, police said.

The group was standing near 1057 Juniper Street in Midtown.

Ebony McCrae-Curley was standing with the group between two cars as one started to roll backward about 12:30 a.m., Atlanta police Lt. Bryan Paden said.

“He jumped back into the car to stop the car and he inadvertently hit the gas instead of the brake,” Paden said.

Atlanta police spokeswoman Officer Stephanie Brown added that McCrae-Curley was pinned between the cars and later died from her injuries. She was pronounced dead at 12:57 a.m.

The five pedestrians were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in stable condition and are expected to survive, Brown said.
