A pedestrian struck by a car in Cobb County last weekend has died, police said Wednesday.
Jennie Coston, 55, of Marietta was hit about 10 p.m. Sunday as she tried to cross South Cobb Drive near Appleton Drive in Marietta, according to the Cobb County Police Department.
Coston was not in a crosswalk at the time of the accident, police said. She was taken in critical condition to WellStar Kennestone Hospital, Marietta, where she died Monday.
Police identified the driver of the 2000 Toyota Corolla that struck Coston as Katie Trivette, 20, of Lawrenceville.
The Selective Traffic Enforcement Program Unit of the Cobb police is investigating. No charges are expected to be filed, police said.
