A $500,000 Jumbo Jumbo Bucks lottery ticket was sold at the downtown Shell station in Atlanta earlier this year. The prize was paid Aug. 10.

The lucky ticket was one of at least 27 winning Jumbo Jumbo Bucks tickets claimed in metro Atlanta from July to October, according to data from the Georgia Lottery Corp. The lottery provided data on prizes more than $600.

At least $107.8 million in winnings was claimed in Georgia during that time.

All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia's HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia's Pre-K program. See winning numbers at http://www.ajc.com/lottery.
