Several road construction projects are scheduled across metro Atlanta for this weekend, but a forecast of rain could put a damper on those plans.
Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Karen Minton said the chance of rain is 40 percent on Saturday, increasing to 50 percent on Sunday.
The rain could continue into the first part of next week, with a risk of thunderstorms forecast for Tuesday.
Weekend temperatures will be mild, with highs in the mid-60s and lows around 50 degrees.
If the weather does cooperate, motorists can expect lane closures on several metro interstates due to road work.
The two right lanes of I-85 northbound north of Cleveland Avenue will be blocked from 9 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday, according to the state Department of Transportation.
Closer to downtown, the Fulton Street ramp to the Downtown Connector northbound will be blocked at times from 4 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Sunday for the filming of a movie, the DOT said.
In DeKalb County, the left lane of I-285 eastbound from I-85 to Chamblee Tucker Road will be shut down from 7 a.m. Saturday through 5 p.m. Sunday.
A pair of basketball games on Saturday at Philips Arena top a short list of downtown activities planned for this weekend.
Georgia Tech plays Duke at noon, and the Hawks take on the Chicago Bulls at 7 p.m.
