Water boil advisory lifted for NW Atlanta
City of Atlanta officials have lifted a boil water advisory they set Thursday.
The advisory, announced Thursday afternoon, was for the area bordered by Hamilton E. Holmes Drive to the east, Collier Drive & I-20 to the south, Fulton Industrial Boulevard to the west and Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway to the north.
City of Atlanta Department of Watershed Management spokeswoman Janet Ward said water management is investigating the possibility that a contractor not affiliated with the agency may have shut off a valve, causing a loss in pressure in that area.
"They're not supposed to do that," she said.
Residents were advised to boil water before preparing baby food, cooking or drinking. Water was to be boiled for at least one minute after it reaches a rolling boil.
