Although Fayette County’s libraries in Fayetteville and Peachtree City remain closed to the public until at least May 13 during the coronavirus shutdown, residents can still access digital books and many other materials using a free virtual library card.

Any Georgia resident can get one by calling the Fayette County Public Library at 770-461-8841 or emailing library@fayettecountyga.gov. Those with existing PINES library cards that have expired or have fines attached can contact the library to get them reactivated; a card’s account status can be seen at www.gapines.org.

The virtual cards can be used to access online materials from a network of dozens of libraries across the state, as well as RBdigital’s audiobooks and periodicals, eRead Kids (books and audio), Ancestry.com’s library edition, Mango Languages learning programs and more.
