The DeKalb History Center will host a lecture on how urban homesteading helped transform Decatur at an event Tuesday.

The lecture will focus on how rehabilitation in the Oakhurst area helped rebrand the neighborhood into its current bustling business and residential district.

The free lecture begins at noon Tuesday at the Old Courthouse on the Square in downtown Decatur. Attendees are invited to bring their lunch to the session.
