UNG starts construction of new dorm
University of North Georgia officials and a private contractor have broken ground on a new 4-story residence hall to be dubbed The Commons. The dorm on the school’s Dahlonega campus will house some 536 students when it’s completed in the fall of 2016.
The residence hall will be the Dahlonega facility’s ninth, and is designed to address a housing shortage that means students-except for cadets-wishing to live on campus must take part in a lottery. The school currently can house 2,230 students at Dahlonega.
UNG also has a Forsyth County branch.
