The Tull School of Accounting at the University of Georgia received a pledge of $1 million from Ernst & Young, college officials announced Friday.
Ben Ayers, the Tull School’s director, said the donation will be used in several ways, including scholarships, endowed professorships and support for faculty research and teaching.
The company heavily recruits from UGA, with more than 200 alumni working for the firm, said John Schraudenbach, a partner in the firm’s Atlanta office.
"The University of Georgia is one of Ernst & Young’s primary sources of great students who join our firm every year, and we are committed to helping the Tull School and Terry wherever we can," said Schraudenbach, a UGA graduate and a member of the accounting school's advisory board.
