Two qualify for vacant Peachtree Corners city council seat

Two residents qualified for the vacant City Council Post 2 seat. The qualifying period began on Monday and ended at noon Wednesday.

Two long-time residents qualified: Eric Christ, 48, a business executive who has lived in Post 2 for the past 17 years and has served on the city’s Zoning Board of Appeals since the city was founded in 2012. Also qualifying was Stephen Peet, age 60, a senior operations manager and Post 2 resident for the past 27 years.

A special municipal election will be held 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. May 24 at Peachtree Corners City Hall, 147 Technology Parkway. Residents who have not registered in the city’s municipal election may register on or before 5 p.m. April 26. Registration forms are available in the office of the city clerk.

The Post 2 vacancy was created when Jay Lowe resigned earlier this month to run for a state representative seat.
