Two people have been arrested in connection with the late December stabbing death of an Athens convenience store clerk.

Athens-Clarke County police Wednesday afternoon arrested Shameeka Lashae Watson, 30, and Clarence McCord, 36. Both of the suspects are homeless, according to police spokeswoman Hilda Sorrow.

Sorrow said the arrests came after investigators received  tip from a citizen. Both were charged with felony and malice murder.

Kejuan Charde Hall, 25, a clerk at the Golden Pantry on Atlanta Highway, was found stabbed to death inside the convenience store shortly after 11 p.m. on Dec. 30.

Sorrow said the GBI is assisting in the investigation, which is ongoing.
