Two popular restaurant chains are planned for a growing mixed-use development in Barrow County.

Twisted Taco and Five Guys are "coming to the Gateway for sure," according to an email from Wayne Bartlett of Progressive Realty LLC, which handles leasing at The Gateway at University Parkway. The shopping center is located along Ga. 316 near Ga. 81.

Twisted Taco currently has eight Georgia locations, and Five Guys has 50, according to the respective websites. Neither company immediately responded for comment.

Many people have wondered and speculated about which businesses will open at The Gateway.

Bartlett said the following businesses are also confirmed for the property: Taco Bell, Holiday Inn Express, Body Plex, Twisted Taco, Friends American Grill, Gateway Gardens assisted living, Dr. Tracy Salyer Orthodontics and Edible Arrangements.
