The Henderson Park Community Garden, the first public garden in Tucker, has opened.

The garden sits on a seven-acre lot owned by DeKalb County, adjacent to the park’s soccer fields. There are 56 plots, all growing food using organic methods

Four of the plots in the garden grow food for the Friends of St. Martin de Porres food ministry at Holy Cross Catholic Church.

The remaining plots are rented, though organizers are taking names for a waiting list.
