A tractor-trailer hauling aluminum ignited Tuesday night, temporarily blocking all lanes of I-285 southbound near South Cobb Drive.
No one was injured in the fire, according to Lt. Dan Dupree with the Cobb County fire department.
Traffic was backed up for miles in the area as firefighters extinguished the blaze. Northbound traffic was not affected.
Two lanes of southbound traffic re-opened about 30 minutes after the blaze started.
