The state Department of Transportation plans to shift Ga. 141 traffic on the stretch from Brookwood Road to Deer Lake Drive/Granite Lane onto newly constructed lanes on Wednesday. The stretch is part of a 6.5-mile widening project in Forsyth County.

At this stage of construction both northbound and southbound traffic will use the new lanes in that stretch, according to DOT. But after construction is all finished, they will be the southbound lanes.  DOT says the project altogether is 90 percent complete, and weather permitting, should be open to traffic by Nov. 1.
