The Wire and Wood Songwriters Festival is in Alpharetta this weekend.

For many folks, this will be a lot of fun, filled with original music, food and drinks. But for drivers attempting to navigate the streets of Alpharetta this weekend, the festival could cause a headache.

These roads closed on Friday at 9 a.m. and will remain closed until Sunday at 5 a.m.

• Old Canton Street
• Old Roswell Street, from the Smokejack parking lot to Milton Ave.
• Milton Ave., from Highway 9 to Canton Street
• North Broad Street
• South Broad Street

Additionally, a section of Market Street, from Commerce Street to the entrance of the Center City Parking Deck, will be closed from 3 p.m. Friday to 2 a.m. Sunday.

The city is strongly encouraging drivers to avoid downtown Alpharetta this weekend. Those who do drive near there the festival can expect heavy delays on Friday and Saturday between 4 and 11 p.m. The city says that there will be heavy pedestrian traffic near the area.
