Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, has awarded more than $114,000 to Habitat for Humanity International to support its housing programs.

The grant is part of the inaugural "Thrivent Choice Voting Event," which allows members to vote on how to distribute $1 million among 10 national charities. More than 16,000 members voted for Habitat to receive part of the grant.

The two organizations have worked together for more than a decade to provide affordable and decent housing.
