One person was dead and two others wounded in a triple shooting early Monday in the parking lot of a southwest Atlanta apartment complex.
The shooting happened just after midnight in the 500 block of Windsor Street.
“The only thing that we’ve learned is that people heard gunshots and then looked out and saw some people scattering,” Atlanta police Lt. Paul Guerrucci told Channel 2 Action News.
Guerrucci said the three victims were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, “not by ambulance but by others in vehicles.”
Police impounded a Chevrolet sport utility vehicle from the hospital.
“We’ve learned that one of those victims has subsequently died as the result of gunshot wounds,” Guerrucci told Channel 2.
A second victim was still being treated before daybreak Monday, and a third victim was treated for a gunshot wound to the hand, then arrested on charges unrelated to the shooting, Channel 2 reported.
“We don’t really have a lot of information to give us a clear understanding of what occurred,” Guerrucci said.
The names of the victims have not been released.
