Three bridges over I-85 will close due to construction this month
Three bridges over I-85 in Gainesville will start construction activities this month, including Plainview Road, Neal Road, and Old Stagecoach Road. These bridges will be closed to traffic.
Closures of Plainview Road and Old Stagecoach Road over I-85 are scheduled to begin on June 11. Neal Road is scheduled to close on July 16.
The closures will last a maximum of 180 days and will have clearly marked detours routes.
Two additional bridges over I-85, Cedar Ridge Road and Brown Road in Franklin county, are also scheduled to be replaced in early 2019.
This project will replace bridges that have been in service for the over 55 years and will enhance safety by increasing lane width and adding shoulders to the travel lanes.
Georgia Bridge and Concrete, LLC of Tucker will perform the work.
