In the same building where smothered hashbrowns were once served up around the clock, the unemployed (or underemployed) can now go to get career training.
IdeaSpace recently opened at 2105 East Main St. in Snellville, which was formerly occupied by Waffle House.
The business offers classes on everything from entrepreneurship to parenting a child with ADHD, according to the website.
Councilman Roger Marmol and other Greater Eastside Chamber of Commerce officials welcomed the career training center Saturday, a City of Snellville Facebook post said.
The building will also house StarkSpeak, a non-profit from IdeaSpace owner Karen Starks, PhD.
StarkSpeak creates "employment opportunities for urban residents," according to the website. According to her bio, Starks is a licensed clinical social worker, assistant professor and author who mentors teens at South Gwinnett High School.
