1. Atlanta weather: N. Georgia braces for one-two rain, snow punch. It's possible that widespread snow could reach metro Atlanta by late Friday and early Saturday morning. A winter weather advisory for snow and ice will be in effect from 3 p.m. Friday through 7 p.m. Saturday for north Georgia. [Read more]

2. Georgia Lottery winner killed during home invasion. According to WALB-TV in Albany, intruders broke into the home of Craigory Burch Jr. and then shot and killed him. Burch was a forklift operator who won the $434,272 Fantasy 5 jackpot in November 2015. [Read more]

3. Suspect arrested in DeKalb teen's shooting death. Twenty-nine-year-old Deandre Seabrooks was arrested Thursday in Stockbridge in the Jan. 11 shooting death of a DeKalb County teenager who was left for dead on a sidewalk near a MARTA bus stop. [Read more]

4. Ga. legislator retreats after "Shark Tank" star slams lottery fee. The Atlanta Journal Constitution's Jim Galloway reported that State Sen. Josh McKoon — who received national attention during the Powerball chaos for his proposal to let Ga. lottery winners stay anonymous if they paid a big "donation" toward lottery education funds —has announced that he's dropping that fee from Senate Bill 179.
