Want to know if the University of Georgia received all your application materials? Curious as to how many credits will be accepted as a transfer student?
There's an app for that.
UGA's Office of Undergraduate Admissions developed a free application that can be downloaded from iTunes. The "UGA Admissions" app includes a campus map, updates about sports teams and contact information for faculty and staff members.
More colleges are relying on technology to attract and recruit students. Officials are posting videos on YouTube, sending text messages and creating virtual campus tours.
"We hope to use the iPhone app to reach out to a larger population of potential students, and to enhance the UGA experience for applicants, students, visitors and anyone else interested in learning more about the university," said David Crouch, information technology manager for undergraduate admissions.
