HBO's "Last Week Tonight" with John Oliver did a show on the stupidity of local governments paying for new sports arenas for billionaires. Deals like this relieve the billionaire of any risk, while putting the tax payers at risk. I guess one in DeKalb County gets HBO.
How come politicians always refer to their statements that are wrong as, "I misspoke." As my beloved Grandfather said, "No Hoss, You flat out lied!"
If we could just get casino gambling in Underground, Atlanta would have a perfect trifecta of boondoggles!

It is the 101st anniversary of the traffic signal. Too bad there is no government entity in the U.S. that can actually get two of them synchronized.
Why aren't the billionaire welfare queens, Arthur Blank, Atlanta Falcons owner, John Malone, Atlanta Braves owner, and Antony Ressler, Atlanta Hawks owner, required to meet the same standards as other welfare recipients? Take drug tests before payment of government assistance. Have they no shame? Hey, why use you own money if governments are foolish enough to bankroll you?

The biggest heist in history took place right here in the USA, and still very few can care the bailout money given to banks who provided bonuses of hundreds of thousands of dollars to each of its 30,000 employees at some institutions. How is that not theft and very few question it?
