Q: It was reported in a recent AJC that Jerry Sandusky would be sentenced in three months. Why would it take so long?

—Ray Prior, Newnan

A: McKean County Senior Judge John M. Cleland has ordered a pre-sentence report to be completed on Sandusky before he decides on punishment, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported. It is a routine report, according to the paper. The report, which can vary in length depending on how much information is included, could contain interviews with Sandusky, his family, potential character references and victims. It also will include the nature of the crimes and a summary of events and charges before the conviction, Alan Pelton, a manager for the Allegheny County Adult Probation Department, told the paper. "It covers just about anything," he said. Cleland hasn't set a date for sentencing, the paper reported, and it will take time to complete the report. Sandusky, a former Penn State assistant football coach, was convicted on June 22 of 45 counts of sexual abuse of children.

Q: As far I can tell, there are no adult contemporary or light rock stations in Atlanta. Are there any light rock stations in Atlanta, and if not, why not?

—Leann Arnold, Tucker

A: There are no stations left in the Atlanta area with that format because radio executives want younger listeners to generate higher advertising sales.
