Q: I have a large Styrofoam box that I need to dispose of. Is anyone taking this? What should I do with it? I don’t want it to go into the landfill.

Q: Several recycling centers throughout metro Atlanta will take Styrofoam material.

The Dart Container Corporation (6588 Marbut Road, Lithonia) will take Styrofoam, but it must be in a clear plastic bag. Go to dartcontainer.com or call 800-288-CARE.

Polymer Sciences Inc. (5800 Wheaton Drive) accepts all No. 6 Styrofoam materials, but no packing peanuts or any food packaging, including egg cartons. Washed-out foam cups are allowed, as is large electronic packaging Styrofoam.

Keep Atlanta Beautiful Inc. (keepatlantabeautiful.org, 404-249-5853) hosts two recycling centers every month.

The recycling event at Second Ponce de Leon Baptist Church (2715 Peachtree Road) is 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on the first Saturday of every month.

The other is at 320 Irwin Street in Old Fourth Ward 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on the second Saturday of every month.

The Center for Hard to Recycle Materials (livethrive.org/charm), at 1110 Hill St., is open 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, and 8 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturdays.
