Q: Why were Nicholas and Alexander Bolden, the twin boys born to their brain-dead mother, delivered prematurely at 25 weeks? Could she have been kept on the ventilator longer in order to give the boys' organs more time to mature?
—Michelle Hutchinson, Marietta
A: Christine Bolden's twin sons were delivered on April 5 after her blood pressure spiked, according to MLive.com, a website for several Michigan newspapers. Bruce Rossman, spokesman for Helen DeVos Children's Hospital in Grand Rapids, Mich., said the doctors knew it was time to deliver the babies, according to the article. They were delivered at just past 25 weeks and were less than 2 pounds when they were born. Christine Bolden was pregnant with the twins when two brain aneurysms burst on March 1. She was declared brain dead on March 6, according to MLive.com, but was kept on life support for about a month to allow the babies to develop.
Q: I can't remember the last time I heard or read anything about President Barack Obama visiting Camp David. Does it still exist? Does President Obama ever go there?
—Ray Prior, Newnan
A: Obama had been to Camp David 22 times before he hosted Group of Eight (G-8) economic summit there last weekend, according to CBSNews.com. Camp David, which is in Maryland's Catoctin Mountains, has been a Presidential retreat since 1942.
