Lance Lamberton, president of the Cobb Taxpayers Association, is running for a seat on the Austell City Council in November.
Lamberton made the announcement on Wednesday, and is running for the Ward 4 seat currently held by Virginia Reagan. Lamberton, a 10-year Austell resident, has been endorsed by former Congressman Bob Barr, former Cobb Commission Chairman Bill Byrne and current Austell councilman Martin Standard, according to his campaign.
City Council elections are scheduled for Nov. 8.
