Clay Edwards is tired of gridlock in his part of the city.
“I live on West Wesley Road and personally witness this event on a daily basis and it’s even worse now that the I- 85 bridge is out. There is a solid line of standstill traffic on West Wesley Road between Habersham Road and Northside Drive at least two times daily,” he wrote. Edwards said the situation continues for at least two hours at each time.
“The problem has to do with cars going east on West Wesley Road toward Peachtree Road. There needs to be an arrow on the light which allows cars to turn north on Habersham before the cars start coming west on West Wesley at each light change,” he said.
Edwards explained there is already a dedicated left turn lane there, however there is usually so much traffic coming in the opposite direction that only one or two cars can turn there at each light change.
“Again the lane is already there, just make a change in the light signal. Very inexpensive and easy correction to a ongoing problem. No improvement to the paving as needed.”

Stephanie Roberts sent us a photo of a large hole located at the intersection of 14th Street and Piedmont Avenue that is only getting larger by the day and has been that way for over a month.
“The cause is more likely from the continuous flow of water coming out of a clogged sewer drain located a few yards away. This water has been flowing down Piedmont Avenue towards 14th for well over a year now,” she wrote.
We sent the issue to the city and will let you know when it is fixed.

Pat Morris is tired of avoiding potholes on a busy stretch of road.
“There are many, but at least three potholes are “swerve to avoid” and get into the oncoming lane toward the end of Houston Mill Road as it runs into LaVista Road. Houston Mill is a disgrace, and with the removal of the dividers so vehicles can turn right on red, traffic backs up almost to Mason Mill on some days,” she wrote.
She added traffic could keep moving from Houston Mill Road onto LaVista Road heading north if the dividers were reinstalled.
We informed DeKalb County of her issues.
