Update-Briarcliff Road
In late November, we told you about a rabbi’s concern about a busy shopping center.
“There is a Whole Foods store on LaVista Road and Briarcliff Road in Toco Hills. There is an entrance/exit on the LaVista side and an entrance/exit on the Briarcliff side,” wrote Rabbi Israel Robinson.
He said many accidents have occurred at the area, and something needs to be done.
“As a car exits onto the Briarcliff side, the driver is given a choice - to make a right or a left. However, the left turn is not only dangerous, but it is illegal by county law. One must cross several double yellow lines and traffic going in the downtown direction on Briarclff cannot see a car coming over two lanes and trying to enter! I’ve witnessed the aftermath of many accidents at this stop sign over the years. It seems that the left arrow and lane need to be eliminated. It is both illegal and dangerous,” he added.
We sent the item to the DOT. We heard back from the department, who said they are investigating the complaint and looking at refreshing the striping.

Eric Brooks hopes something can be done about a large hole in the road.
“This bugger is a ‘shocker.’ It comes up right quick over a rise on North Decatur Road, up from the large Kroger and opposite the entrance to some new construction, heading down to East Ponce De Leon Avenue ,” he wrote.
We sent the item to DeKalb County and will keep you updated.

New item-Ga. 400
Ron Gonyea wants some potholes fixed.
“The first lane on Georgia 400 south just past I-285 has two large holes in the concrete. I have seen car after car hit these potholes each weekday morning. This is my second request and I am surprised that you have not gotten more requests for this to be filled considering how many cars travel this road each day,” he wrote.
