An autopsy is planned for a burglary suspect who died after fighting with police officers in Clayton County.
Clayton police spokesman Phong Nguyen said police responded to a burglary late Thursday morning at a residence on Georgetown Court.
Officers found two suspects inside the residence and arrested one of them without incident. The second suspect, he said, got into a fight with the officers. Two officers and the suspect were injured and taken to a hospital for treatment, where the suspect later died, he said.
The two officers were treated for minor injuries. Nguyen did not describe the nature of the dead suspect's injuries or release his name.
The investigation was turned over to the GBI, Nguyen said.
