Suspect arrested in fatal southeast Atlanta shooting

A suspect was arrested Tuesday in a July shooting death in southeast Atlanta.

Tavish LaShan Liggons, 26, of Decatur is charged with murder, armed robbery and aggravated assault, police said. He was taken into custody in Lithonia and transported to the Fulton County Jail.

Liggons is accused of killing 20-year-old Lorenzo Hawthorne.

Hawthorne was shot July 22 in the 300 block of Greencove Lane. Police found him lying in the road when they responded to a person down call just before 9 p.m., according to the incident report.

Liggons was transported with a head injury to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he died the next day.
