A suspect has been arrested in the death of a man whose body was found last week in the Chattahoochee River.

Cobb County fugitive investigators and the U.S. Marshal's Service apprehended Hajja Kennyatta Martin, 39, at a Seaboard Avenue address in Atlanta, according to a statement from Cobb police.

Two fishermen found the body, identified as 39-year-old Ralph McGhee of Decatur, on the morning of Aug. 1.

The fishermen, whose names were not released, called police after seeing the body in the water near the 6600 block of Akers Mill Road, police said.

Investigators ruled the death a homicide, Sgt. Dana Pierce said. Investigators did not say how McGhee died or how long he had been in the water.

Martin was charged with felony murder and aggravated assault. He is being held without bond in the Cobb County jail.
