Metro Atlanta is in store for another beautiful day of spring weather to round out the weekend, though it will be significantly cooler.
After a series of Saturday evening storms in far northeast Georgia, most residents will be left with drier weather and much cooler temperatures, Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Eboni Deon said.
Sunday is expected to be partly cloudy and temperatures should only reach the mid-60s in Atlanta, making it about 10 degrees cooler than average for this time of year, she said.
The second half of the weekend should be breezier, too, with wind gusts of up to 30 mph gusts possible in some spots, Deon said.
“Sunday we’re drying back out, but it’s going to me a much cooler afternoon,” she said.
The good new, is that no rain is expected, making it a nice day to get out and walk the neighborhood. Those getting a little afternoon exercise may want to bring along a light jacket, just in case.
Monday and Tuesday will start off cool, too, with morning temperatures in the upper 40s, Deon said. Both days will get significantly warmer by the afternoon, however, with temperatures reaching the 70s by lunch.
The dry weather is expected to stick around until Wednesday, when another storm system moves in, bringing widespread rain across North Georgia.
With the statewide shelter-in-place policy still active, traffic on metro Atlanta’s roads and interstates will be light this weekend.
