The Sun Dial Restaurant Bar & View, the revolving eatery atop the Westin Peachtree Hotel, will close for window repairs Oct. 8, a week later than previously scheduled. Westin officials are replacing all 6,350 windows in the 73-story downtown tower because many were damaged in the March 2008 tornado that ripped through the city’s heart.

The work will begin at the top of the building and flow down to the ground floor. The closing of the Sun Dial was pushed back because architectural work had been delayed, said Westin Peachtree general manager Ed Walls. The restaurant will reopen at year’s end, weather permitting.
