Study: 4 Atlanta neighborhoods among nation's most dangerous

If you live in certain Atlanta neighborhoods, you have a good chance of being the victim of a violent crime, according to report on walletpop.com.

Four Atlanta neighborhoods are among the 25 most dangerous in the country for 2010, giving Atlanta more neighborhoods on the list than any other city, according to the report.

Coming in at No. 5 on the list is the Carter Street area, found within zip codes 30314 and 30313. Residents have a 1 in 8 chance in a year of becoming a victim, the website states.

Marietta Street, including the 30313 and 30303 zip codes, makes the "dangerous" list at No. 7. Here, where 307 violent crimes are predicted, you'll have a 1 in 9 chance of being a victim.

Also making the list from Atlanta are the Richardson Street neighborhood, which ranks No. 17, and Humphries Street, which ranks No. 22.

The most dangerous neighborhood in the United States?  The W. Lake Street area of Chicago takes top honors. Those in the 60612 zip code have a 25 percent chance of being a victim.

The website says it compiled its list based on FBI data from 17,000 local law enforcement agencies. The neighborhoods on the list have the highest predicted rates of violent crimes.
