A stolen SUV crashed into one bus in southeast Atlanta on Monday night, then hit a MARTA bus before flipping in a front yard, police said. The driver fled on foot before police arrived on the scene.
The owner of the Acura MDX called police around 7 p.m. to say it had been stolen. Police went to the scene and chased the vehicle, but had given up pursuit when it smashed into a small bus at Forrest Park Road and South River Industrial Boulevard, authorities said. Seven children were on the bus, but there were no injuries, police said.
Less than a mile away, the stolen vehicle hit a MARTA bus. The vehicle flipped and came to rest on the front lawn of a house on Hutchens Road and the driver took off on foot. One passenger on the MARTA bus complained of neck pain.
Both buses had minor damage.
Police were searching for the driver of the stolen car.
