Georgia Attorney General Sam Olens will be the keynote speaker for Southern Polytechnic State University’s summer commencement ceremony on July 30.

Before beginning his state job in January, Olens served eight years as chairman of the Cobb County Commission and five years as chairman of the Atlanta Regional Commission.

Olens graduated from Emory University’s law school in 1983.

The commencement will be SPSU’s 101st ceremony, and about 202 undergraduate and graduate degrees will be conferred. The commencement begins at 10 a.m. in the university gym.
