College Park

Shots fired at Uber driver

Two people have been detained after shots were fired at an Uber driver in College Park, a Fulton County police spokeswoman said Wednesday.

About 10:45 p.m. Tuesday, authorities learned an Uber driver picked up a woman and drove her to a home on Kimberly Mill Road, Fulton police spokeswoman Maureen Smith said.

“The driver advised that he heard arguing at the house and soon after he witnessed the female running out of the house screaming for him to drive,” Smith said.

An armed man exited the home and shot in the Uber driver’s direction, she said. The driver was not injured. However, his car was damaged from the gunfire.

SWAT officers and detectives executed a search warrant at the home. Police have not released information about the two people detained or any other details.
