A south Fulton County woman was killed in a one-car crash in Coweta County, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

At about 10:25 a.m. Friday, a car driven by Tanya Tabar Strickley, 71, of Union City crashed after going off Tommy Lee Cook Road, GSP spokeswoman Tracey Watson said in a report emailed to AJC.com.

Strickley’s car was heading east and went partially off the road while on a curve, according to the GSP.

Her car went back on the road, off the north side and went down an embankment, according to the report.

“The left side of the vehicle hit a tree,” the report read. “The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.”

A passenger in the car was injured. No other details were released.

Everyone in the car was wearing seat belts. Alcohol and drugs are not thought to be factors in the crash, according to the GSP.
