‘Souper’ Bowl drive get more than 1,000 cans for tornado victims

To celebrate Super Bowl LI, Boston Elementary School in Woodstock hosted a "SOUPer" Bowl canned soup drive. Combined, the students and their families donated 1,017 cans of soup for the drive. The soup will be donated to the South Georgia residents devastated by the recent tornadoes. One can of soup was one vote for the team the donor wanted to win the Super Bowl. Students could bring in as many cans as they wished. Every 100 cans donated was a 10-yard advancement (1st down) for that team. The final can count was 64 cans for the Patriots and 953 cans for the Falcons. One of the third-grade teachers at Boston Elementary who grew up in South Georgia and still has ties to the area planned to personally deliver the cans.
