Snellville man arrested moments after Dunwoody bank robbery
By Rhonda Cook
Jan 15, 2010Dunwoody police have charged a 32-year-old Snellville man with robbing a Bank of America branch near Perimeter Mall in DeKalb County.
Police said Friday that Michael Savoie was arrested so quickly after the Wednesday afternoon robbery because a DeKalb County police officer, who just happened to be in the area, saw him sprint from the bank and get into a waiting car.
The officer followed the car onto westbound I-285, tailing it until a marked police car could make a traffic stop.
Savoie was arrested without incident, police said.
