A new fire rescue truck will be bought by the Smyrna City Council as decided 6-0-1 on Oct. 15.

Absent was Councilwoman Susan Wilkinson.

The contract for $112,500 was awarded to the lowest bidder Fouts Bros. Inc. of Smyrna of three proposals received.

This truck should be delivered by May, according to William Ingram Jr., sales representative for Fouts Bros. Inc.

The F-450 Light Duty Rescue Truck will operate from Smyrna Fire Station 4 off South Cobb Drive.

This scheduled replacement of Rescue 4 will be funded from the approved Vehicle Replacement Fund in Fiscal Year 2019.
