Police have released a sketch of the man who brazenly attacked a 22-year-old UGA student on her way to class last week.
The woman was assaulted about 7:20 a.m. on March 21 in the parking lot of the Fairfax Hall Apartments on South Milledge Avenue.
The suspect tackled her from behind and began to remove her clothes. The woman screamed, and a resident heard the commotion and ran outside, prompting the suspect to flee. The woman was not seriously hurt.
The suspect is described as a 5-foot-8 black man of average build in his late 20s to early 30s, with a light complexion and shaved head. He was wearing a tan plaid short-sleeved shirt with black stripes and khaki pants. The shirt was alternately described as a button-down dress shirt or polo-style shirt.
Anyone with information on the incident is urged to contact Athens-Clarke County Police Det. Will Frisch at 706-613-3888, ext. 799, or Sgt. Dustin Smith at ext. 795.
