Six Decatur streets set for repairing, repaving in 2016
Decatur will five six streets a thorough re-hauling in 2016, which includes milling, patching, repairing and resurfacing: Eastland Drive from Willow Lane to city limits; Pensdale Road from Willow to city limits; Midway Road from South Candler Street to city limits; Chelsea Drive from Coventry Road to Kathryn Avenue; Olympic Place from East College Avenue to dead end; Swanton Way from Commerce Drive to dead end.
The total length is 0.96 miles.
These streets were chosen primarily after complaints and inquiries from residents. The total cost is $562,400 with $126,540.89 coming from a Local Maintenance and Improvement Grant while the city pays the rest.
Assistant City Manager David Junger said the work is targeted for August and September.
