A sinkhole has formed in a Johns Creek road for this second time in a month.

On Sunday, police were warning people on Facebook to avoid the area of State Bridge Road and Mannes Lane, near Morton Road Park.

The sinkhole is five feet deep and three feet wide, said city spokeswoman Edie Damann on Tuesday.

The police said Fulton County public works staff had been notified and were “working diligently to repair it.”

Damann said repairs should be done by the end of the week.

10-foot-deep sinkhole formed May 3 at State Bridge Road and Medlock Bridge Road in front of the shopping center with the Regal Cinemas Medlock Crossing 18 movie theater.

That sinkhole was caused by erosion from water escaping the broken wastewater line and it was expected crews would take several days to fill the hole. It was fixed May 15.

Damann said the sinkholes are isolated incidents.
