One man was shot early Sunday morning following a tussle that started with an inquiry about buying marijuana.

The unidentified victim, shot in the abdomen, was in stable condition at Grady Memorial Hospital, an Atlanta police spokeswoman said Sunday morning. He was part of a large group of friends hanging out on the porch of a home near the 626 apartment complex on DeKalb Avenue.

According to investigators, three young passersby asked the group if any had weed to sell. Told no, the suspects went on their way before doubling back.

Police say two of the suspects pulled guns on the group. The victim was shot while attempting to wrestle the gun away from one of the suspects, the spokeswoman said.

Following the shooting, the three suspects robbed the group before fleeing on foot.
