Isolated severe thunderstorms could bring damaging winds and golf-ball-sized hail across north and central Georgia on Sunday afternoon and evening, the National Weather Service says.

Numerous thunderstorms are expected, with frequent lightning and up to two hours of heavy rainfall at any one location. The storms would accompany a cold front moving through late today, according to WSB-TV meteorologist Brad Nitz, who puts the chance of rain at 60 percent.

After today, Nitz says we won't get any rain until at least Wednesday, when there's a 20 percent chance. He predicts a high of 87 today, 85 Monday and 89 Tuesday.
