Multiple wrecks in DeKalb County have led to severe traffic delays throughout the afternoon on I-285 eastbound.

A DeKalb Fire and Rescue official said at least six people were injured in the first crash, which occurred around 1:30 p.m. near Buford Highway. Multiple vehicles were involved, with as many as six people injured and one possible fatality.

A little more than an hour later, another accident was blocking the two right lanes on I-285 East at Flat Shoals Road. No word yet on whether that wreck led to any serious injuries.

Traffic continues to move slowly there and in the area surrounding the Buford Highway crash.
