DeKalb County authorities were on the scene of a wreck involving a school bus Thursday morning on Glenwood Road.

The crash, which involved a bus and a van, happened around 7:15 a.m. on Glenwood at Santa Cruz Drive.

Latonya White, who lives in a nearby home, said she was getting her own child ready for school when she heard the collision.

“I saw kids on the bus, so I ran to go check on them,” she said. “They were all shaken up and crying and everything.”

She said there were four children on the bus.

DeKalb schools spokesman Walter Woods said there were no students injured, but the driver of the van was transported to a local hospital for treatment. He said the bus and van collided as the bus was making a left turn onto Santa Cruz Drive.

Woods said the bus was picking up students bound for Avondale and Knollwood elementary schools as well as for Stone Mountain Middle School.
